Drop In & Decorate Cookies for Donation began in 2002 with six friends who got together one afternoon to decorate 100 large sugar cookies that we donated to one emergency shelter for families. (Read the story here.) Last year, at Lydia's 6th Annual Drop In & Decorate party, 85 adults and teens dropped in to decorate more than 700 cookies for two food pantries, one family shelter, and six domestic abuse shelters. Drop In & Decorate Cookies for Donation is spreading across the country, with parties hosted by families, friends and co-workers in Seattle, New York City, Boston, Newport, Atlanta, Champaign IL, Washington DC, Ann Arbor MI, St. Louis MO, and more. Each party is different, every cookie a work of art. It's easy to start your own Drop In & Decorate event, with one person or two, or six, or sixty. The cookies you donate will make someone smile.
